Sriram Viswanathan joined the MS in Music Technology program in Fall 2007. His current research included the sonification of an aquarium to improve the overall experience of visually impaired people visiting such exhibits. Other past projects include sensor based mobile application using machine learning algorithms. Areas which fascinate him include musical acoustics, cognition, signal processing and especially how an intersection of these fields would improve a listener’s experience.
His composition entitled ‘In the womb – Our First Home, Our First Roots’ was selected as part of continuous presentation at ICMC 2008 held at Belfast, UK.
He holds a Bachelors of Engineering (B.E.) in Comp. Sc. from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi India (1999 to 2003).
Before coming to Georgia Tech, he was working with a global software consultancy firm for 4 years in the field of Computer Networking and Telecommunication based software. His job had taken him to countries include UK(Cambridge), Israel(Tel Aviv) and South Korea(Seoul).
