Currently works for Curious Inventor
Scott came to the Music Technology program after completing a B.S. in mechanical engineering at CMU (minoring in robotics and computer science) and a M.S. in mechanical engineering at GaTech. At GaTech, his research focused on the integration of real hardware into simulations, also called “Hardware-in-the-Loop” simulation. A hydraulic environment emulator was developed that could evaluate a test valve in a variety of operating conditions.
In the Music Technology Group, Scott developed Haile, a robotic drummer that can listen to and interact with other human drummers. He also developed software for the beatbugs that enabled them to capture, share and manipulate sound from live musicians.
Scott now runs a startup that helps other inventors manufacture and sell their open source hardware ideas: CuriousInventor.com.
