Neeraj completed his undergraduate education in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune, India. During this time, his projects included designing a Chromatic Digital Guitar Tuner using the 8051 microcontroller and emulating Tube Pre-Amp overdrive characteristics using solid state devices. He has learnt the Tabla (an Indian percussion instrument) since childhood and is a self taught guitarist. Having played with various heavy metal acts and being an amateur guitar tech and audio engineer, Neeraj joined the program with a view of fusing musical and technical interests. At Georgia Tech, Neeraj has designed the "Wii-Mixer", a motion dependent interactive interface for live effects based remixing and was involved in the sound design for "Game Room", a gestural and musical game for the Xbox Kinect sensor. Neeraj is currently working under the guidance of Dr. Jason Freeman on "EarSketch", an educational application for high-school students which leverages the concepts of remix composition through computation and programming practices. Along with technical research, Neeraj endeavors to continue composing, recording and performing music.
