Ajay has a Masters in Signal Processing from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India (2010) and a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, India (2008). Prior to joining GTCMT, he worked as an Edison Engineer at GE Global Research, Bangalore. He has worked on speech enhancement and recognition for human-robot speech interaction as a part of his Masters thesis at the Speech and Audio Group led by Prof. T V Sreenivas in IISc. His research interests include Audio, Music and Speech Signal Processing, Machine Learning, Psychoacoustics, and Computer Music. He is currently a PhD student with the Music Intelligence Group led by Prof. Parag Chordia and works on predictive modeling of music. He loves percussion and plays the Indian percussion instruments Mridangam and Morsing, which he is learning under the tutelage of Vidwan. G S Nagaraj, Bangalore, India. If not playing, analyzing or modeling music, he can found reading prose, poetry and philosophy or out somewhere camping, trekking or sailing.
